austin: it's good for the soul

Our trip to Austin turned out to be just what we all needed. As soon as we left the house and got out of the car for the first time, Ava was glowing.

We were able to see Jillian and Dannon while we were there, eat at our favorite spots, shop a little, and this trip we visited the Texas History Museum (Will's request). It was pretty cold and since Ava has had a cough, we were sort of limited as to what we could do.

By the time Thursday afternoon rolled around, Ava was getting pretty tired and cranky from being lugged around in and out of her car seat. We went back to the hotel to let her take a nap and ended up staying in the room for the rest of the evening to let her rest. What seemed like a bad end to our vacation ended up being rather nice. Will went and picked up pizza from Homeslice and appetizers and dessert from Whole Foods and brought it back to the room. Needless to say, we pigged out while watching the Texas game, but it turned out to be a really nice evening.

If you find yourself in Austin sometime in the near future, here are some places we recommend:
Breakfast:
Kerbey Lane (the original location on Kerbey ln is the best)
Cisco's

Lunch/Dinner:
Homeslice Pizza (on S. Congress)
Guero's
(also on S. Congress, this place is to die for! -makes my mouth water just thinking about it)
Texas Chili Parlor
